My immediate thoughts exactly, one of the nice guys in football - a sort of gallic Bobby Robson.

Sorry to hear this, does not seem very long since he was in the public conscience and a fairly 'young' guy.

Met him 20 years ago, we were on an Easyjet flight from Liverpool to Luton for my 18th and he was on board with his wife. Very amiable to a chat and an autograph, seemed a lovely guy. RIP
