Is anyone on here doing this? I've got the option to do it but my instinct is to keep the 991. Be interested to know what others are doing - will you do the swap?

absolutely zero interest currently - perhaps that'll change, but for once i doubt it. why not hold out for a lightly used Speedster ? 992 GT3 Tourings will be ten a penny.

I guess it depends on RRP prices of the new car and if your OPC want your touring back at a daft price.

No brainer to swap if you sell yours at £160k to buy a new car cheaper. If you make £30k then the new cars very cheap to buy.

Dynamic range of the new car will be wider - it will be better or more comfortable on the road and faster on track (if it were to every venture there).
PDK option instead of manual.

So if you have the option do this at list.. why wouldn't you.
In your case, you'd probably end up saving money or getting money back as you can chop in the GTS - as the new Touring will cover all bases.

That would be my preferred route, chopping in the GTS, as someone else has suggested smile

Be interesting to see the demand and numbers of 992 Tourings this time and if this is as strong as PH suggests for new orders there could well be a role reversal with relative oversupply of the 992 Touring and the winged 992 could be the unicorn this time with a corresponding effective reversal of residuals. If the 992 Touring is the flippers choice and numbers higher this will undoubtedly make the hitherto strong 991 Touring residuals look expensive.

Brexit surcharge looking increasingly likely will no doubt have a bearing on the pricing and demand for the new car which is looking increasingly expensive and could well firm up used car prices once again particularly late run stuff not just of GT3s et al but across the board similar to what we saw in particularly the last 8 months of 2020.

I would only do this if my Touring was a daily driver (is there a better one ?!) and I wanted PDK.

On the road is it really going to be any better than 991.2 ? I struggle to think it is to be honest.

I suppose the other question is will 991.2 Touring’s lose their premium is there are suddenly a lot of 992 Touring’s around ? That’s certainly possible as happened with 911 R prices.

On the question of values, I suspect the 992 Touring will just have a bigger premium (for a while) as opposed to 991 going down (there's not may about).

Must admit that AP divulging technical details of the 992's uprated chassis piqued my interest. I put my name on the list (OPC on the continent) for a 992 Touring subject to it being a full GT3 bar the wing. I would run the two cars in parallel for a while and then decide which one has to go

Do it. The fact you're thinking about it speaks volumes.

Yes, perhaps. To be honest what I really want is to keep the 991 Touring (as it is) and 992 Touring with Comfort Seats, PDK and Rear Seats. That would be perfect combo.

No plans to. Only benefit in reality for me would be to opt comfort seats. Would still want 2 seat manual. Size of the 992 even bigger than 991, which isn’t ideal, nor is the look, which is getting a bit more ‘try hard’ for my liking.

No doubt much quicker etc on track but 500hp plenty for me on the road or indeed my pedalling standards on track using MPS4s’s.
