Hi all, how easy is it to switch the headlights on a F31?

Thinking of buying a F31 but my budget is looking at pre facelift and I hate the non LED headlights. Found a lovely low mileage M Sport 320d but was wondering if I went for it I could do a headlight swap?

Any advice welcome

I think there are companies that sell halogen lights that look virtually identical to the pre-LCI factory xenons but have halogen bulbs for the dipped/main beam

How easy it is to do? Have a look on YouTube - there are loads of videos (basically it's a front bumper removal job).

I believe any changes will need coding into the car too. Don’t know whether that’s straight forward, assuming you have the necessary equipment.

it could end up being pretty complicated if you want to go down an OEM retrofit route. not sure on the F31 but it might need a lot more than just the headlight units themselves. on an F10 for instance the LED headlight retrofit is quite involved because of all the various inputs the headlights need in order to function correctly (ride height, steering angle, HBA assist or kafas camera etc) so a lot depends on your original build spec.
