So, my girlfriend moved back to her parents place in Spain a few months ago following a nervous breakdown, a move very much encouraged by me. Alas, she couldn't take her beloved pet hamster on the flight back with her (I did call and ask despite already knowing the answer). Consequently, in the next couple of weeks I will be driving the MX5 ,complete with hamster on board, down to her in the North of Spain (Eurotunnel then head south). It'll be a turn up and hand it over before turning around and driving back type trip, all in all, around 2000 miles.
Has anyone else had to do similarly crazy antics in the name of love?

Suggest you try and track down a trucker doing the route.

It is quite kind of you to carry this out, but I imagine once she gets her hamster back, you may not see her again if she's happy being back in Spain.

The hamster needs a pet passport or else he'll be barred from entering Spain after 31 December.

Does the hamster speak Spanish? If he does, he might be able to bluff his way past immigration.
