Your F1 2020 MOMENT of the year
Discussion
As a follow on from what someone said in the Your F1 2020 Driver of the Year! thread, how about an F1 Moment of the year thread? Because let's be honest, this year has served up some of the most memorable moments that will be replayed for decades to come.
Could be anything, an image, a video (links would be great), a tweet or whatever.
I can think of ten off the top of my head, but I'll pick an easy starter...

The 2020 Australian Grand Prix getting cancelled last minute. What started out as a monumental clusterf*ck in reality, ended up giving us what can only be described as one of the best seasons in living memory. New tracks, old tracks, races in countries out of season, double headers, races two weeks before xmas, reduced running times, less free practice, driver changes...
And over 78,000 covid tests held on personnel (costing over £80 each!) with very few contaminations of staff.

Gasly winning, Lewis 3-wheeling it and George's start the other week are right up there.
However, this moment specifically, was the most important. Watching live, I had been genuinely moved by the crash - I was pacing up and down, I honestly thought i'd just watch a man die. I felt very, very ill.

As his hands reached out, and Dr Roberts grabs him and guides him over the barrier, it was such a relief to know that fundamentally, he would be OK.
I honestly think it will be one of those things I'll always remember and talk about in years to come!

The closing stages in Monza, and Gasly's win.
Just a great way to end a really good race, and the emotional podium for the three drivers was just fantastic.
I brilliant reminder that behind all the precision, engineering, analytics, and tactics, there are the human beings in all areas of this sport.
Highs and Lows of Russell's fantastic drive in the Merc is right up there too.
Enjoying a wheel to wheel season for the drivers and constructors throughout a mid-field that at times felt like it was being contested by all but Mercedes was great to see too.
We've seen some genuine race craft and motorsport this year that we must be grateful for.

Not that I'm desperate to bring back V10s. The response from pitlane with many whipping out their phones and Sky interspersing post-quali coverage with Alonso shows how spellbinding how much the howling V10s have a hold on all of us.
Everyone I saw had the same WTF moment

I think there have been so, so many incredible moments this season, others have mentioned them above such as Lewis with three wheels on his wagon still racing at 140mph. But I think it has to be the moment when I saw Grosjean alive in the inferno and escaping. I had spent the previous two minutes thinking no-one could have survived that and frankly I am still astonished.
Grosjean's crash will be remembered for a long time. Having watched Bianchi only a few years ago tragically lose his life I thought I'd witnessed another death in the sport.
Considering the shorter calendar it has been an interesting season. Aside from the crash there's been several memorable moments throughout the year.
In 17 races we've had:
- two double-headers
- three tracks that we've not seen in recent years
- two debut races
- two new race winners
- Lewis Hamilton winning 11 of them - see his records broken this year here
- McLaren secured 3rd in the Constructors
- a great midfield battle
Before the season even started we've known about driver changes for next year and almost half the seats in the field will have a different driver in 2021. In an unprecedented year we've seen some of the best races and overall it's been good for the sport. I can only hope 2021 delivers, but it should be given how many changes are happening. Viewers are probably up and next year brings the sort of intrigue again that I think we've been missing for a few years. I'm looking forward to it already.

Easy one for me, it was Gasly winning the Italian Grand Prix.
That photo of him sat on his own, deep in his own thoughts sat on the top step of the podium summed up everything which is still joyful in F1.
