Not quite up there with Thomas Fitzpatrick, but still one for the Hold My Beer hall of fame.

If the report that he’d never risen a jet ski before are true, then fair play, young man, fair play.

I hope he got his “reward” on arrival, after an effort like that and also, can everyone not mention this to my missus, in case she gets ideas that it’s possible to make this much effort....

Aren't the IOM jails a little different from the UK - As in they are more like a holiday camps?

I would have done the same to get out of Irvine though...

There are people travelling out of the UK to various other countries every day, against the rules/guidance/law/call it what you will, and I know for a fact that not all of them are travelling on business. Sure, castigate them, punish if appropriate, and yes, I've been fairly vocal about the need to follow Covid rules at times, but...jail, for that? One bloke? OTT much?

Island mentality. They've probably been wanting to do it for years before covid gave them an excuse. laugh

Met a Manx girl for two weeks in September. Now returns and says she is his ‘partner’.
I imagine he was that desperate he could have ‘pole-vaulted’ there.

It is a great story, but 25 miles in 4.5 hrs is about 5mph.
The slower jetskis do about 40mph, did he got lost or have a lot of luggage?

And how did it have enough fuel on board to run for 4 hours? Seems unlikely,

Because they are a relatively small island with limited hospital capacity.

My brother lives in Jersey where they’ve been handling it well until about a month ago when they had a couple of superspreader events and are now having to have a circuit breaker.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/jersey-c...

Jersey has only 7 ICU beds. The Isle of Man has 6.

Hence they need to take it very seriously, sentence is a deterrent.

It seems he walked 15 miles from where he 'docked' his jetski to his girlfriend's house!
