I've been actively looking for a V10 Manual R8 Spyder in the last few weeks and have quite a few hesitations on the color...

I feel that the R8 Coupe is still a gorgeous car and has aged pretty well.

Colours range from grey, to white, to black, brown, red, blue...

I feel the Coupe is better with a "regular" (ie grey/black/white) color

What are your thoughts on the Spyder ?

I feel the car design is a bit less special and might accomodate a blue or red more easily but I do love a nice grey or white as well.

Is that a safe choice or will that be harder to sell in 2-3 years time if i decided to part with it ?
Is a red car something that would actually already be cheaper on the market ? Or would it commend a premium (more rare ?)

Any feedback of current owners (V8 or V10, R or S Tronic, or Manual) much appreciated smile

Colour is largely down to personal preference, if you’re concerned about resale then I would focus on the cars condition, mileage and history as the primary factors, then specification, then colour.

Pick whatever external colour you like....TBH I'm more concerned about the interior colour, there are some nasty mid grey's/beige interiors that are not to my taste.

Agreed on the interior color, and yes mileage/Service history/condition will be the main criterias.

That being said, is a Red R8 harder to sell than a Grey R8 ??

Based on no facts whatsoever, two cars being identical, one grey, one red, I think the red one would be harder to sell.

You’re probably right, however a chap local to me has an early R8 Spyder in red and it looks incredible. I’d choose it over grey every day of the week.

I have never understood this...why would anyone want a road coloured "supercar". The brighter the better for me.

I have a Suzuka Grey manual v10 Spyder with a Black and carbon interior that I bought about 3 years ago and I love it - when I first saw it on the dealer's website, I thought it was white!!.... I bought it because it had a great history and low miles, the colour has grown on me and is fairly understated, I think they seem to cope better with bolder colours than the Coupes, the blades are more subtle and look better in the same colour as the rest of the car. As I said, I bought on condition and history rather than colour.

Had a black R8 coupe. Loved the car, loved the low-key colour, but hated that it photographed badly and was a pain to keep clean. Swapped to a Carmine Red Porsche .... don't think I could ever go back to grey/silver/black again.

Colour is so subjective just buy the one that most makes you smile. If I were in the market for another R8 it'd be blue. Sepang looks amazing.

Given a choice i would choose red. Not a lot beats it but for some reason it isn't popular by all accounts and will be harder to sell.

That said i have watched a couple of v10 r8's in red and it seems they have moved on pretty quick.
