OPC quoted me £1.8k for a 4 year major service apparently ‘discounted’ from £2.5k

Anyone got any reference points?

Car has done 10k miles although don’t think that matters much as expensive things like spark plugs seem to be time rather than mileage driven

Location is Surrey so in London premium territory for labour costs

Cheers

Well it's OPC prices but I'd want a breakdown of where the £1,800 was going.

Another thread here on the same subject.

All adds up but it depends on what they're doing!

I have a 997 turbo, so perhaps engine architecture is quite different, but £750 I think to change plugs (every 4 years at major service) is a big old chunk. In the 997 they drop the engine to get to them I believe, and if it’s same on 991 then that’s the main culprit.

I am due a major in April, and when the plugs were last done I had the whole service including plugs at £1150, so I think I am in for a much bigger bill this time.

You can definitely negotiate though. Find a reputable indi locally and quote the price. They won’t tend to match it, but will get closer. For me the extra £200 every couple of years is worth it for the nice loan car I request, and the event invites I go to with my son!

Mine was done last March, think the bill was closer to £1500 at my local OPC!!! That was including plugs which is the big part of the bill. That price (£2.5k) you've been quoted seems fking ridiculous.
Mines a 2014 on 18k

OPC price have gone up quite a lot so the new prices are about right.

wait till April 2021 where every thing will go up to pay for all the losses.

My local OPC charged £1600 in July, tried using my PCGB for a discount, but no joy.

Hope this helps.

OPC prices have gone nuts recently. Not that they were ever "cheap", but the latest prices are just incredible.

My 991.1 GT3 has just had it's 6 year intermediate (minor) service, which is basically a fluids change - oil and filter, brake fluid and one of the PDK transmission fluids. That and a quick checkover - £1100 in total. No belts, plugs or anything like that. I'm guessing less than £200 in parts, so that must be about £250-300 per hour in labour?

And they still managed to break my car - I don't think they put it back together properly and the dashboard lit up on the way home with a coolant sensor failure. Had to go back in on a flatbed to be repaired. 3 day later they drove it back, and in return I got an apology.

If it wasn't under warranty it would have been into Ninemeister for less than half that, and much better service. You don't even get a 'free' coffee at the OPC these days.

Opc south london seem to want service business. They are a good team and tend to be cheaper.
