Handbrake Jammed on

THe other day I lent the Chim to my daughter who wanted to go to a race meeting to meet her boyfrend, she wanted to arrive in style and impress everyone !!
Everything was going fine until the Stewards asked her to move the car and thats where the trouble started. The handbrake just wouldnt release, the button just refused to push in. No matter how she tried it wouldnt budge. She was soon surrounded by people, not quite making the impression she had hoped for, all offering suggestions, and trying thenselves, but to no success. Eventually the AA were called out, he reached in, pressed the button released the handbrake and said "Seems fine to me" - the magic touch of an AA man, or maybe the Chim was just deciding to play tricks on her.
Anyway the Car was driven back home, needdless to say the handbrake was never used by her again. I tried the handbrake and sure enough it happened again - it just would not move!
So how did I cure it? Well the littl button that you push in to release the handbrake actually screws on and off, I turned it out a 1/4 of a turn. and it releases fine, Turn it back 1.4 of a turn and it jams. So if this same thing ever happens to anyone else - you now know what to do - just twist that little button.
PS this was a handbrake with the Alloy Leven handle.
