Christmas presents for two teen boys

My sons' 18 and 15.
Since the giving of smart phones to kids and the invention of the gaming computer, which they both have, it is pretty impossible to buy them a decent interesting present.
The Smart phone is their music player, video and stills camera and everything else. I was ecstatic with my mono tape recorder for my 18th back in the 70s but now I am at a loss what to get for them.
I don't live with them, money is tight. They don't seem interested in experiences (previous years coupons are lost or at the back of drawers, expired).
I don't want to give them cash, they'll just blow it on Deliveroo plus the younger one secretly on booze and weed.
I'm left with vouchers. Amazon or a clothing shop?

How about an afternoon / day out, the three of you? Clay pigeon shooting lessons maybe left field enough to get their attention? I bet you could do the same with golf, tank driving etc.
A Nice watch, doesn’t have to be Uber expensive - but buy wisely and it’ll last them a long time. Even if they don’t love it on day 1 they’d come back to it as they mature.

Bought my similarily challenging 14 year old a gaming chair. He spends most of time sat on PC/xbox!!
Funny story around this - I was playing Rainbow 6 on the xbox by myself, and randomly joined a team of 4 to make the required 5 - could have been anyone from NW Europe. Started talking to them, they found out I had a 14 year old boy and asked what he was getting for Xmas, so I told them. Later on in the game it transpires they are my son's classmates at school. They haven't told him!!

If i was 18 i would probably want the cash and some aftershave or something. Have you asked them what they would like ? Any specific Clothes/Trainers they want ?

The Tank driving might be a good shout, as is the clay shooting, as long as they don't shoot each other.
Sadly I guess these are all impacted with the constantly changing Covid restrictions.
Not a present but I had originally planned a European Road Trip this year with the 18 year old. Wasn't to be.

We are finding it difficult for everyone, Christmas used to be so much easier with DVDs, Videos, Tapes, Records, Cassettes and various gadgets.
But everything is streamed and covered by smartphones as you say.
My wife goes round just buying any old crap to wrap up but both I and the kids have said dont, Christmas quiz cards, nano blocks, wacky ties, blow up ghetto blaster, its just s
t, landfill that nobody wants. Best to get the socks, pants, booze, tools, chocolate, stuff that gets used or is useful, her mum does it as well, all the stuff you always wondered who the hell buys it, sometimes its good fun to be fair but mostly is bin fodder.
Its great when they are little but when they are all in their twenties they just dont want it.
There is always Lego of course,
