Having just invested a fair chunk of money in a new pc and dual BenQ screens (thanks to the ‘share your home workstation environment thread’), I’m now in need of some decent speakers. Use is mainly for video editing and general YouTube watching, so not in the market for surround sound stuff. Any suggestions on a stereo setup that’s got some fairly good base end for up to £100ish?

A used Bose companion 5 system would be my choice (and was my choice) at that price mark.

I have a set of these & they are an excellent purchase for me, so much so, that I may end up buying their bigger brother, a pair of Eris E5's for TV duty.

Thanks for the reply but I would rather avoid having a sub in the floor. Have just done a thorough declutter of the study, I’m quite enjoying not have my old sound labs system sitting under my feet

They had been on my radar and so it’s good to hear someone enjoying them. Cheers beer

Do they have the issue where they power down after 5 - 10 minutes of no sound passing through and then take 4 - 5 seconds to power up? It put me off the T40’s for that reason

Well, in that case, those speakers Digger suggested do look very nice!

I bought a as new pair of these off eBay for
£60. Like you didn’t want a sub and I know they are Bose so not everyone’s cup of tea, but they are massively impressive and the build quality is amazing. All metal construction.
You will only get them off eBay these days as no longer made. Available in black and silver.

I went for a used set of Acoustic Energy AEGO M 2.1. They are very impressive for the price

I ended up getting some Edifier R1280T here

Was quite interested in the PreSonus 3.5 but couldn’t get a delivery date until mid-Jan without paying a hefty delivery charge. I’ve not yet had chance to push the Edifier’s hard but first impressions are good, with a full sound - not too bright and nice depth of base. I’m quite pleased with the quality having spent £89

They look good.

Just checked with my Amazon Prime & could get the Presonus delivered in a week. Maybe its where you live. Also Thomann.de have reasonably good delivery but the time of year probably hinders that a bit.

Enjoy the new sound experience smile
