What's the best S Line for £4k?

Hi first time in this section of the forum! Posted in the car buying section a while back, and I'm now looking at probably getting a 3 Series/X3 or an Audi...

I am looking at A3, A4 or A4 Avant. I really don't mind which! It's a family duty car, but the boot seems big enough in the A3 as well. I kind of prefer estates as a general rule.

Any experiences or preferences here? Looking at manual and petrol if possible. Has to be around 200bhp due to insurance (otherwise the missus isn't allowed to be on my insurance) which points me towards 2.0T or possibly the 3.2, which I see a few pop up.

It seems the A4 got facelifted in 2008? So would be great to get one of those if possible. Mileage doesn't bother me, but would prefer to keep under 115k if possible.

the A3 5-door is a very square-bodied thing, if you don't need something bigger that's pretty practical.

Quick question due to the number of adverts I've been looking at! Some S Line's seem to have an 'S Line' steering wheel with the badge on the bottom, whereas some don't. Was this a certain version, or model year where it was introduced?
