Leases and credit file

Hi Leasing PHs, quick question I can’t seem to find an answer on. I checked leasing forum. Does the lease get applied to my credit file for the full lease contract cost in the same way as PCP? I know there’s a credit check but once your signed will your credit file have an entry for contract or car value? Thanks very much

My lease on my credit file showed the total value of the payments, and reduced each month until the car was returned and the balance zero.

Thanks Camelot. Yep I wasn’t sure about this and which I was looking into a subscription of some sort. Would prefer not to have a credit balance added at the moment so cheap, cash purchase seems way forward.

depends on the provider I think. Mercedes never showed up on my files (experian or equifax) over 3 years.

Normal finance has always shown.


Business lease from volvo with a personal guarantee also doesnt show on any file.

(*All in my experience, sample size of one, etc etc).

I had a vwfs lease that showed just the lease amount but the last 3 years had a Peugeot through Hitachi capital and nothing has ever appeared on my credit file.
