M135i, any buying tips?

Hi all,

I'm about to start looking for a new car and would love an M135i. I've had a MK7 Fiesta ST for 4 years now.

My budget is maximum 15k which seems to mean I can get a sub 50,000 mile model. It has to be a manual for me.

Any owners out there with knowledge on things to check when buying? Thanks

Make sure you get Professional Navigation as that, to me, makes a huge difference.

Buy an auto. The manual box is like stirring a bucket of golf balls with a piece of spaghetti.

As noted above, conflicting opions rule..

Manual isn't that bad - I had it on mine and it was fine - not the greatest shift, but OK, and after having the ZF 8 speed in my F11, I didn't often find myself wishing I'd have gone down that route. Only caveat to that would be if you're commuting in traffic as the main use.

Pro Nav again is great, but the standard one I had (Business maybe?) and it was fine - did the job but didn't look quite as impressive.

I had mine for about 3 years and had the steering rack replaced under warranty, but other than that it was great.

Ignore the moaners about the piped in noise.

Heated seats were great - mine had adaptive suspension which was again fine, but I didn't try the standard.

Suspension does get unruly when you're really pushing on, but mine never scared me so hopefully that means I was just being sensible.
