correct wheels width

hi guys,
has anyone got 7x17 inch alloys on the rear of their chim? i have heard that when upgrading to 17 inch wheels that the rears should be at least 7.5x17 but i cant get that size with the alloys i want. any help would be greatly appreciated.many thanks

8.5" rims at the rear is a good starting point.

Hello,i had the same predicament as u and could not easily find 7.5 or more for rear.or if u could it would cost a fortune as most companies sell 7"s all round and dont like to seperate,hence i have 7 on front and rear and have noticed no difference in ride or looks.....maybe on a track or full out would b difference but how often can the cars be pushd that much.just my opinion...but i wouldnt worry to much,whats half an inch between friends!!!

thats what i wanted to hear. ill go for them then.as long as i can put 235s on the back then its cool by me. like yr alloys by the way.
