V8 VANTAGE DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW
Discussion
Hi, I purchased the Vantage last week and have an issue with the drivers door quarter light glass catching on the chrome trim when closing the door, this leaves a small gap between the glass and the rubber seal and an annoying wind noise, also worried about the glass breaking, is there any adjustment ?
Yep - sounds like the wing mirror arm has been re-painted, which necessitates the removal of the quarter light glass.
Try pushing the middle of the glass towards the bottom rear corner of the door (I.e 45 degrees). That should ensure it’s correctly seated in the sealing rubber in the widow channel.
Hopefully an easy fix, but come back if you don’t have any joy.
If the rubber is tight a squirt of silicone spray on the vertical and horizontal rubber seals, inside and out should sort it.
Good luck !

Not sure if this is applicable to your problem, but my 2006 V8 Vantage used to occasionally forget where the roof was and overshoot a few mm, causing it to go clang when you shut the door and sit outside the rubber trim.
Solution was to press the button to take the window down and when it gets to the bottom keep holding it for 5 seconds. Then wind it up and hold it at the top for 5 seconds. This resets the mechanism and when it winds down and up again it’s in the right place.

I think you are right about the mirror (invoices in service history) the quarter light glass moves freely 2-3mm in each direction pivoting at the corner, but doesn't want to go further in towards the corner, but tilting it down at the front it now clears the trim.
