Adoption

Does anyone have experience of adopting internationally? We’re thinking about adopting from India and I wondered if someone had any first-hand knowledge of what to expect?

Sorry, can't help at all, but couldn't resist - a friends parents have won all sorts of fostering and caring awards for their work with fostering and adoption but its been British children mostly.

Question though, why india (or tell me to sod off for being nosey )?

I should have seen that one coming!

India because we've both got Indian heritage and because my wife, having spent some time there, has seen first-hand the number of incredibly poor children there.

I mentioned this thread to the aforementioned friend who's parents are massively involved in fostering etc. and they recommended speaking with you local authority who should help with the paperwork in relation to the Dept of Adoption and the Dept of Eduction (apparently) as a starting point.
