How far from a road, is it ?
Probably a few hundred meters, but it is literally in the middle of a wood. No easy access. It’s not clear to me how it got there. Driven in and abandoned at a guess but it must have been a long time ago in summer. It’s very very muddy in winter. How far from a road, is it ?
Now, that's interesting. We're both thinking about the same car, I am sure. Indeed, I have always known them as E93a. However, when I previously held forth about these cars on PH I was politely corrected to the effect that E93a was the up-market, sloping back Prefect. The 'booted' Popular was 103e.
Even Google images doesn't clarify with certainty.
Is there an expert in the house? PH - Where pedantry matters!

Correct, according to my Ford book. Popular 103E.
Prefect was E93A, with headlights on wings, later facelifted to E493A with faired-in headlights.
Eta; beware, don't let this become like a typical BMW-fans' thread, E37 this, E39 that, F10, this, etc. etc.

Just to add the last word - !! Ours was a 1938 car but I would have sworn that it was a Pop and that it said E93a on the chassis plate. Girling rod brakes, vacuum wiper and 3 speed gearbox, it was a fairly basic object but our mother loved it and it survived being abused by my brother and I as we learnt to drive. It's reg number was EA9084. Anyway, we are going back almost 60 years so I plead memory fade!!

Thanks Tarquin, well clarified. In fact, that 493a business was a new one on me. I thought Prefects were Prefects!
So we'll stop there....... No mention of 7W and 100e then.
No, not mentioning the 7W or 100E So we'll stop there....... No mention of 7W and 100e then.

Although the earlier 7Y Eight did have a similar rear bootlid profile to the Popular

Anyway, now off to see if I can get a life.
