usually reserved for that go faster look on your Nova...I need to do something with my calipers as they have gone very scummy to the point they look sh1te.

so, pic in my profile of the car (azure blue) - what do you guys reckon on colour without it looking maxxed? thinking either a similar blue or a black?

Either black or what about gold like the standard Brembo colour?.

Have seen red before on an Azure Elise which looked good.

The problem is unless you get them professionally sprayed they can look very, very sh1t indeed if you do it yourself with the Halfrauds caliper paint.

This has been done quite a few times before mate so check the archives which should have details of the options available.

Paint them yellow and tell everyone they are the new Lotus Carbon Ceramic discs which set you back £30K a set

I think I saw on the Lotus web site that you can buy factory coloured callipers, god knows the cost though!

cheers for the ideas guys. Might give this some more thought. Davey, good point about spraying rather than painting mate. I still want to try and do this myself though as it just seems a rather simple job to pay someone else to do. If I balls it up, well they can do it properly!

have you done your mountain bike ones then?

I would rather pierce my foreskin with a blunt screwdriver than paint them gold Tim.

Schnozz.. aha we meet across here too...

I have just cleaned my wheels with a mild acid, which has done wonders.

It has also cleaned up the calipers really well too, just a thought. If you speak to a local valeter, they may have some acid for cleaning wheels, see if you can get a small amount, water it down a bit and use a sprayer and brush to clean to muck off.

Otherwise, I wouldn't do anything other than black myself.

I've just been on the lotus website and see that they do do official painted calipers

The parts number is ALS2J006F

They do Silver, red and blue, but also say any special colour so i'm guessing you can yellow with purple spots if you so desire.

I doubt you'd see much change from a few hundred quid. But at least it'll be an offical lotus job and look better than the other option of sitting in the car park at Halford's and having some Kev in a sup'd up Vectra looking over your shoulder going "ere i've painted mine init"

If they look anything like the calipers on the Exige 240R I'd keep my money in my pocket as they look like stevie wonder had painted them.
