BV is right to wait for the legislation, but the tier you’re in (travelling from) is likely to be relevant.

Not an answer but where is your home in Northumberland? I live down south and am fortunate to have another home not too far from Morpeth. If family commitments were different Northumberland is where I would chose live.

The not mingling bit isn’t 100% true. We’ve lived a hermetically sealed life this past week, leaving the house only to get drive-through tests today, and I’d hoped to let my parents see their little grand children.

I’ve done everything right this year, and will continue to, other than possibly for the next two weeks, after which we’ll seal ourselves in again until certain we’re clean.

Tier 2 is rule of six outdoors. Tier 3 is rule of six outdoors in some spaces (such as parks).

I happened to be looking at the current regs this morning. It seemed to me that a family in tier 3 could travel to a second home in tier 2, stay there, and come back. But they couldn’t meet up with anyone in T2 on T2 terms; they had to meet up on T3 terms (which would preclude you and your family meeting your parents indoors). The not mingling bit isn’t 100% true. If the same scheme is carried into any new regs , then assuming you are allowed to travel out of T4 at all, then at your destination you would be bound by the T4 rules on meeting up (reported to be with one person only, outdoors).

Not 100% but I think they can arrest you under the 'Covid lawz' if you fail to provide details and take you to the station for finger print checks etc. to try and find your identity if you don't comply. Very unlikely to be stopped though i reckon. CaterBram said:
