play it by ear, if its dry and above 5 degrees you stand a great chance of putting enough heat into the rears, just remember its RWD.

Michelin pilot sport 4's the best for winter. If really wet uniroyal rain sports. Cup 2's will work if it's damp but only if ambient temperature is around 10 degrees and you have got some heat in to the tyre.

Nothing better than a 911 to put heat into rear tyres

Give it a few mins, a certain someone will be along to wax lyrical, albeit he's rarely done a spring track day let alone a winter one.

He’s never done a track day in his GT3 despite his internet prowess and ex F1 driver (bullst) critique

Don’t do it - i attempted a day recently (mid December, damp Brands GP, less than 5deg c) on worn Cup2’s and they were utterly hopeless, couldn’t get the heat into them without taking massive risks. All the other GT3/RS’s on MPS4’s. Went home at lunch time and returned with the daily driver estate car on suitable rubber.

Was at Bedford last weekend, mostly in an M3 with a mate of mine which is noise compliant there. Took my RS out on Cup 2s for a session and they were impossible to get heat into, but great fun nonetheless. You might have a problem if it was really cold and really wet, but damp-to-wet they were fine and totally predictable.
