Condensation in LED units - F34
Discussion
I’ve got a buildup of condensation in the near side front light module on my 4 gran coupe. It’s more than just mist - it’s noticeable around the sides and running the car on high beam doesn’t seem to make much of a difference.
Is this likely warranty (car was registered in Feb 2018) or is there a suitable bodge with LEDs involving a hairdryer? Thanks

This is super common amongst many of the F and G series cars. Some seem to suffer more than others with little reason.
Bmw will only cover new headlights under warranty if there is actual water droplets inside the headlight. If there is not then they will not be covered. End of.
The headlights don't push much heat forward if they are LED, get a hairdryer on the front and take the rear covers out to dry them out and get some anti moisture bags to put on the rear of the headlight to prevent it from occurring again.

Thanks. Are the LED units open like the halogens? I thought they were sealed and you replaced the whole unit if it failed?Bmw will only cover new headlights under warranty if there is actual water droplets inside the headlight. If there is not then they will not be covered. End of.

Looks like I’ll be out with the hairdryer then...

No there some elements you can change in them in certain ones and the modules can be changed.Looks like I’ll be out with the hairdryer then...
From an actual led element perspective they are and require full replacement then.
You should still be able to remove some covers to get some warmth in there though.
