It does constantly irritate me when posters claim this. Obviously it's usually a partner they don't want to disagree with and just go with it and agree.

However, I find myself in a similar position. Naturally, as my conduct has pretty much accepted the Contract, and I rather like the car, what do the learned Church of PH suggest the best way to approach informing the supplying dealer that I actually have not 1 piece of anything in writing.

I have lots of emails back and forth. Delivery was delayed since a September. Covido etc. Finally, this week I was informed my new car would be dropped off and the p/ex picked up.

Happened the next day

However, pretty much a 'here's yours, is that the one I'm picking up' situation. Swap over took probably 10 minutes.

So someone has dropped a bks.

So how do I approach the dealership. Someone may get a kicking. I've a £30k car, sitting outside my house. It's financed (but no paperwork). Registration is in my name. It's HPI clear so it seems no one has done anything.

I really don't want to drop anyone In the st but I'm sure someone will be the fall guy.

To be clear, great company, great car. After sales service, exceptional. No beef there. And the car is a keeper.

Suggestions on how to approach this?

Erm, have you bought a car? Rented one? Leased one? Borrowed money secured on one? What type of paper do you want?

As you may know, cars in the UK do not have title documents and there is no legal requirement for a car sale contract to be written.

What sort of finance deal is this?

I’m not sure I understand the issue.

You ordered something (car) via email (‘cos Covid init)
Car was delivered, correctly registered, taxed etc., PX was taken away

As I understand it.

OP ordered car.

Car delivery delayed due to Covid restrictions.

Now car has been delivered, OP realises there hasn’t been any way set up to pay for said vehicle. Either by monthly payments or as a whole.

Finance interest doesn’t always show on HPI immediately so that’s normal.

Ordered car, car has arrived, you are happy, so what's the problem?

You say its financed but there is no paperwork, surely you signed something, whether physically or remotely?

I would concur. I would suggest the email trail will reveal finance instructions and acceptance. Also, I suspect an envelope will drop through the door of the OP any day from Finance Company Ltd with agreement and direct debit details.
