Slightly odd looking thing, but overall it seems a good effort for a small family crossover SUV thing. A 300km range when it's -5 degrees is very good for the class. If they could get it out in the UK for ~£30k I think it'd do well.
Yep. Bjorn seemed pretty impressed, I thought.Entirely price dependent (isn't everything?).
Thought the front end looked ok - clean & sharp - less blobby than a Tesla, after that not a lot you can do from pillars backwards.
P7 looks interesting too.

That would be the one thing which would really put me off it. If they're going to copy someone else's infotainment system, why oh why does it have to be the god-awful buttonless Tesla one?
Possibly because it saves on costs and works brilliantly well? This of course assumes that they implement it as well as Tesla have, which I suspect is unlikely?Register1 said:
Fantastic starter car for the new to EV.
Made in South China, in Guangzhou.
Cost in China is from £14,400 to £20,300
I hope they soon start to make Right hand Drive here for UK market.
Also the more expensive P7 is starting at £23,000 to £41,000
G3 starts at 230,000 yuan or around £26500 in China. Top spec is near to £30k. Where did you get the £14400 price from?Made in South China, in Guangzhou.

He has either improved or the editing by fullyCharged got rid of the "I haven't thought about what I'm doing so I'll post everything". Has he improved?

Looks like a great effort. As usual idiots write it off as a copy, just like they did with Japanese cars and Korean cars, and in a few years everyone will be buying them because they are affordable and good.
Agreed. I would order an Xpeng car today if they had RHD models available. raspy said:

Thanks raspy, I often wonder why people buy cars that they've never seen or driven based just on reviews. A lot of people bought the new Jimny which lets be fair is garbage as a car but got pumped and hyped massively by the various advertising methods.
Xpeng similarly have paid Fully Charged for an advert and without seeing or driving it already I'm hearing people say they'll buy it if it comes here. Bonkers.
Maybe its just me but I don't see why you'd buy this over something like an ID3 or Zoe for a similar price.
I guess I'm just a bit more cautious. The MG ZS EV sold fairly well despite being made in China and being utterly insipid to drive.
I'd never put money down on a car I'd never seen or driven, so much buyers regret possibilities with that strategy.
It'll be good to see how this car pans out over the long term though, let us know when yours arrives.

See the links I posted - have to ask is the price difference this number plate cost that Elliot mentions? Also it's made in Henan.
I don't know if they still get the EV plate for free anymore either.
A bit like Teslas "price after savings" rather than real price. I'm glad you posted the link to , I was sure they were called Xiao "Shao" Peng not X-Peng but it looks like they re branded at some point.

EVs don't pay for one in China, but it's costly for a ICE car - equivalent of about $13000 US. He mentions too that the government subsidy (a bit like our OLEV grant) was about to reduce, and he got in before it changed. Still about 160,000 RMB (just over £18k) for the longer range but base spec one.
Been watching with interest - it's a well sized, long range, good value family car. More interesting styling than the very drab MG.
Norway price is 358000NOK (£30700 directly converted) for the lower spec. eNiro is 384900NOK (£330260 - 64kWh, they don't get the small battery one), Leaf e+ is 366700NOK (£31461). If it's similar here it'd be on my list.
