Let’s hope they lock them all up and throw away the key. Staggered @ just how £££ much, this lot stood to make, from this.
Truck driver could have made £60 grand, for a few hours work.

Yeah but 60k v quite a few years ar HMP, and knowing you’re responsible for the deaths of 39 people.

Doesn’t even register on my radar whether it would be worth it.

These guys know the potential risks from the outset, so no sympathy from me if they get the book thrown at them.

I'm sure it wouldn't have been the first time and certainly not the last time they did it. So £60k per trip is a nice little money spinner for that scum.

The thing to remember is that these were the stupid ones that got caught.

Imagine how much money the ones who don't make mistakes "earn" doing this.

This is the tip of a big iceberg, we only got a glimpse of the whole thing because some daft buggers were doing it.

I for one am very surprise that a 25 year old in a full owner operator spec, V8 Scania, on Bulgarian plates, living in Northern Ireland and working in Essex had anything to do with it.

All the ones coming over the Channel in dinghies for starters.

Agreed ! Just how many others are doing the same and getting away with it.

Convictions - Good.

For the rest alluded to above - let the lid come right off: Slavery has to go away forever, and cannot do so soon enough - all around the world.

(and that *will* take action & awareness in *all* sorts of senses -inc education and wide& deep discussion about the way we privileged people live. Trivial example: 'No, f-off, you cannot/ *should not* expect to buy three t-shirts for a fiver - here is exactly why...'

I'm all for that, too.)
