Cyberpunk 2077 Game Play [No Main Plot Spoilers]
Discussion
Felt it was quite hard to talk about game play in the other thread without risking spoilers else diverting traffic from the discussions on patches, issues, and the ability to play on consoles, hence starting this thread after mentioning it in the main one.

One thing I was going to ask was how the rest of you have found your weapon load has changed over time. After 112 hours of game play and exploring I'm now left with just the final part of the main scenario to go. I started with an assault rifle, shotgun and sword (the GoG gift one). I also kept in my backpack a pistol and sniper rifle though rarely used them at the time. After a short while I swapped the shotgun for a pistol and dropped the former. Getting mantis blades (has anyone actually gone for one of the other arm options ?) allowed me to swap the sword for the sniper rifle and that's the way it's been since. I did swap out the assault rifle for a precision one, then swapped back as I wanted to use a silencer. Oddly enough I've not gone for DPS as I've managed to get stealth working for me much of the time, even if I'm going for a Leon style slaughter, though some times I do screw up when I'm trying to avoid combat.
The one thing I have noticed is I've only used SMGs when I've not had any weapons and have grabbed them from corpses, and LMGs I've never used.

Gone down the hacking route.....
Upgraded Cyberdek. Got 9 MB base ram, some perks that reduce ram costs, and adds upto 50% damage when uploading quick hacks undetected.
Start with uploading some hacks that reduce enemey resistances and hacks that gives back ram for dealing damage. Than a combination of system shock followed by synapse burn out to essential instant kill pretty much any non boss enemy!
Best bit about the hacks is you can use them when controlling a camera, so essentially clear the level of enemies as soon as you hack the first camera. Going to save up for Cyberphyscois and remote detonation hacks next as they look fun to pull off.
Also still waiting to come across my first turret, cannot wait to try the change target hack and use them to clear a room Deus EX style
.
Really good to see you can essentially fight your way through the game without using guns.

I've not yet finished the main story, so do not know what happens and whether you still have Johnny Silverhand in your mind or not after (please do not say), so I'd recommend searching out the Raymond Chandler Evening quest before you get that far as Johnny really makes it - you need to find Jackie's family's bar.
I am at the point of no return. Without spoiling for others, will my option to finish others quests be significantly hampered if I go ahead with it?
Going to try find the very large man that Mr Silverhands doesn't like and help with the Cloud Bar before I go to the next stage anyway.

Good idea for a thread, too much talk of patches/issues on the original one.
Depending on the situation I’ll try to snipe from a distance to start with. Otherwise I like to try and use stealth to snap as many necks as possible. When I inevitably get caught I whip about the mantis blades and go to work.
Prior to having the mantis blades I managed to pick up a massive hammer from a dead ‘Animal’ gang member and that was also quite powerful.

Simple answer is no - at the end you are given the option to return that point, which also means you can save in a way that 3 main endings (as far as I'm aware) can be accessed and all done without having to restart the game or go back to earlier save points. I did my first last night and then did a second. Question in spoiler for those who've done multiple endings.Going to try find the very large man that Mr Silverhands doesn't like and help with the Cloud Bar before I go to the next stage anyway.
I did the Arasaka ending and got a tarot card, the devil. I then went and did the stay with Panam one and did not get another card, though Misty did show me one. Anyone who did that one did you get a card ? I did keep the jacket and sniper rifle

Posted this on the other thread but got directed to this one.
My ending was V giving up his body to Johnny, I'm disappointed that they didn't end it with Johnny driving off into the sunset in his porsche, but on a bus!
I actually quite liked that ending. Worth remembering that getting the Porsche is not an automatic thing if you do kill that guy you need to explore the boat to lower the container to openMy ending was V giving up his body to Johnny, I'm disappointed that they didn't end it with Johnny driving off into the sunset in his porsche, but on a bus!

Does the game just end or is it like gta where you can freeroam after?
The game ends - but then gives you the option to go back to the point of no return - depending on the ending you may end up with an extra item. Does mean you can go through all the options if you want (6 excluding the 'secret' one - that's two options on each of the three endings).Anyone else played with crafting and upgrading?
It does make armour more than a little imbalanced (though a grenade will still kill me in one go), but aside from that it is useful for minor upgrades - only catches are you need your tech skill high enough and epic/legendary stuff results in you travelling round every gun shop and watching your cash balance drop.

I'm Level 20 Tech Ability and Crafting Skill level 20 and the game is just massively broken by that point It does make armour more than a little imbalanced (though a grenade will still kill me in one go), but aside from that it is useful for minor upgrades - only catches are you need your tech skill high enough and epic/legendary stuff results in you travelling round every gun shop and watching your cash balance drop.

My silenced "Crash" Iconic revolver is doing 1million+ headshots, my armour is 5.5k+ but should be even higher (if I re-crafted some epic Armadillo) so, other than random explosions or falls, I really can't die and I've got over 500k cash from additional crafting and selling after buying a few nice cars too.
I'm at around 140hrs in, done every ending (except the secret one) and now I'm on my second full play-through where I'm trying to correct all the mistakes I made the first time (so many things missed when I didn't know the game) but, and I say this as a burly manly man who thinks emotions are for girls
, knowing the outcome for so many characters and seeing them again so full of life was a genuinely heart-rending experience which massively caught me by surprise. For example, I did the V & Panam ending the first time and afterwards I really did feel empty, like you do when at relationship ends, that's how emotionally invested I got into these characters which shows that, despite the many bugs/glitches and frankly stupid management decisions at CDPR, their story and voice team did an amazing job!

Is it me or does the Blood Pump cyberware just not work? You're supposed to press R1 to restore your health but it does absolutely nothing.
If that's the one I think it is - I think it's bugged as I've found it kicking off automatically when I rest (even in combat) and have never been able to manually kick it off - think you just need it to be equipped and not being attacked (i.e. hiding behind cover/another room). It's certainly saved me a few times as there's a side mission or two where you find yourself without equipment (once by accident).Trustmeimadoctor said:
Don't know what difficulty people played it on but I'm not finding it easy to kill people yet! In fact I seem to find it hard hitting people!
What's your level? Accuracy improves as your character improves, so at first hitting with a pistol or SMG is a real trial (less so a rifle) - it' partly why I think shotguns are so popular as early weapons. Much further down the line and you can snipe with a pistol (maybe not to the range of a rifle, but still a reasonable distance - when silenced).Trustmeimadoctor said:
Level 11 on very hard. The delamane cab hunting jobs seem to be bugged after my first find I don't seem to be able to find them and my satnav lines vanished so I get a job is 1.8k blob bug no idea how to get there
The cabs don't show up on the map, you just get a call from Delamaine to say there''s a rogue cab near by and once you're in the area you see a 'combat zone like box' in the sat nav - drive round the area and eventually you'll get a call from a rogue cab when it's near by.Took me a while to get used to it, but once I did things became easier - semi-spoiler - each rogue cab is different.
As to accuracy - didn't realise you were playing on that level - I was just on normal.
