travelling to purchase a car (covid rules)

My car has just died yesterday. I need a new car to get back and for to work. Essential worker (work in the petrochemical industry)

Can I travel from Wales to England to buy a car (same car as i have now as i figure i can keep my dead one for parts). Can i Get special exemption to do so?

If you can prove you are a key worker and the reason for travel is solid, you will be fine - and that is if the police want a word in the first place, also quite unlikely.

"for work purposes, or voluntary or charitable purposes, but only where it is not reasonably practicable to do this from home"

Why do you think only Key Workers (whatever the feck that means) should be allowed to buy cars?

I don't, just working on the basis being one has you shown more leniency and understanding in matters as with the OP.

Wouldn’t say I’m taking the mick with the distance hoping to get it delivered to my brothers which is a little closer to home.

The turbo has gone on my car so the one I’ve found is ideal as it’s same model and year so can keep my car for parts.

You can go any distance to collect a car. There is no legal impediment to doing that.

I thought you were not allowed to travel from one country of the UK to another? Ie England to wales, Wales to England etc.
