Pro Laser III is a hand held laser speed detection device ....... unsurpringly a development of the Pro Laser II - it is very accurate at great distances and locks onto cars and bikes very quickly. The 'beam' it sends out is very narrow compared to other hand held devices. It is far better than the other devices that exist and locks onto cars with ease.....
It can be picked up certainly by devices such as the Road Angel 2 but once the RA detects it thats because it is locking onto you and it's too late for you to slow down!
The device is very easy to use - even a child could use it. You literally turn it on, line up the red circle in the sight towards a flat'ish surface on an approaching car or bike and pull the trigger. Usually in about a second you have a reading of the vehicles speed and the distance it is away.
There was a case where a guy in a Subaru got off at court after he 'proved' his car couldn't go as fast as the police officers said the Pro Laser IIi had indicated........ the car was a Jap import. It was fitted with a speed limiter which was on the car at the time it's max speed was checked on a rolling road. Of course the owner would never have removed the limiter/chipped the car and then refitted it in order to 'prove' he couldn't go that fast after being done for speeding...... I mean, that would be wrong! And nobody chips Scooby's do they.....
Hope this helps

It will get people at huge distances but if the operator can't see clearly which car they've zapped got or is not 100% happy they should discount it ....... all you need to do is recheck the speed when the car concerned is closer as they rarely slow down until they are right on top of you - and thats standing right by the side of the road dressed like a canary!
I think you will find most forces have these now.....

Its a rather nasty piece of kit, with a useable range of 2 miles allegedly. Quite how the scameraman is supposed to judge your speed at that range is anyones guess and quite how you'd use it at 1/4 of that range held held is anyones guess too.
Dorset £artnership have one
Ist a bit indiscrimninate then ... und itst hit und miss und matter of luck if your car gets zapped then..
But then... what happens if the person ist the undercover BiB in search of unexploded doughnuts
Und whatever happened to "speed trap und van are supposed to be visible to encourage speed reduction.."
Ist money making....
So is it stand alone, or can it be rigged up to a camera and all the rest of the stuff that you find in the back of a money making machine - sorry I mean mobile police camera unit van thing??? That is, is it used in conjunction with a camera unit that takes photographs with red squares on them???

As these days is every Tom, Dick and Harry working near a road. The number of these Green jackets used as coats means that nobody can be sure if the wearer is a road worker, cyclist, Pedestrian, CSO, Plod, etc. They do not designate a Police officer as too many other people use them. A case of something becoming so popular you don't know what they designate.
