If we only knew what technology there is out there?

Remember reading last year that they have developed a speed camera that small that it can be incorporated into a cats eye. Now imagine driving a along and being monitored at every cats eye?

Wasn't it also in one of todays papers that they are close to developing a device that will monitor your speed from space and shut down the engine if it detects any excess. Mind you at the end they did state that there would be an override provision to help getting out of a bottle. So what is the point. Bit like putting 40 signs up to be ignored.

actually they dont. The yanks are a lot less heavy with the right foot than us, and as they know the cats eye cams are there on some stretches they stick to the limit.

As an asides one of my friends who goes to america quite a lot is a very sedate driver over there, but when his behind the wheel of his mini cooper S over here he drives like a loon...must be something in the water

Fabio Sabbatani Schiuma said:
The deputy president of Rome’s municipal assembly, said: “We’ll have to see whether this is really to be used as a deterrent or as the umpteenth excuse for fining people.” What was needed, he added, was a completely new stretch of road so that traffic going in opposite directions would never come into contact.

Amazing how instead of relying on expensive traffic monitoring scameras, one visionary individual is able to supply the solution that so eludes the supposed "cream of the crop" in road engineers and other clever clogs.

We need people like Mr Schiuma over here, he has my vote.
