Just reading the tourer thread and surprised at the mileage covered in the 10yrs. I’m also looking at second hand purchases, so my thought moved towards what constitutes ‘average’ mileage.

I bought my monster in feb and have covered about 7500km despite the obvious restrictions, 3 mths working from home and a 6week work trip away. I should comfortably hit 9k in what will be my first year on 2 wheels, maybe 10 if xmas brings opportunities to stretch its legs.

My commute is 20km and I didn’t use it for that until October as it was too hot, so I don’t think I’m doing too badly. I seem to do a lot of riding just for the sake of it, and can cover 3-400km on a weekend morning.

How many miles/kms do you guys manage per year?

It's embarrasing, but about 1000 miles a year!

I'm a fair weather rider so only go out for a blast now and then, really want to do a longer tour but don't know anyone else with a bike so get bored by myself.

In the first few years of riding I typically did 15-20k miles a year.

I think this year I'll be lucky if I've done 4k miles split between a few bikes.
Hoping to change that next year although I've said that for a years whilst my bike time has been lower hehe

I got my 125 in July, I've done about 1800 miles so far but it's only been evenings and weekends for my own benefit. I've been to the office once on the bike at a 40 mile round trip. I've been out when I can in the autumn and winter but limited to weekends now.

If lockdowns cease long enough for me to get my mod1 & 2 done by spring (assuming my January slot gets cancelled that will be the second time for mod1) and my wife and I can return to the office i would like to do a couple of commutes a week in the warmer months.

Bought my Aprilia March 19, missed a tour and nurburgring this year but in just over a year and half I've done 13,900 miles

My GSXR is a track bike so minimal road miles but thats now showing 2800 miles and is exactly 2 years old

Rest of my riding would be measured in hours as they are MX bikes. About 10hrs I would say on my old MAICO

between 5000 and 6000 miles most years made up of the odd commute, local weekend blasts and normally at least one 7 day or longer trip that is the best part of 2k miles. I only do about the same in the car but that's mainly commute.

I bought a Triumph Sprint GT in Dec last year.

2013 and it had done under 3000 miles. I think a lot of that was taking it from Fife to Edinburgh for its MOT every year.

With lockdown and restrictions I got it on the road in July and put a couple of thousand miles on it between then and October.

That’s more than I used to do but now I’m retired I’ve got more time. I’m hoping to get a lot more use out of it next year.

Then again my last bike sat under a cover for nearly 3 years and never moved loser

This year I put about 17k miles on the Sportster, in total I've done about 40% of my working week from home, so in a normal year it's normally a fair bit higher when you chuck in that bit of commuting and then pleasure riding which I've not been able to do at all this year. (ETA: my commute is ~140miles a day from the South East into Westminster)

Got two weeks off now, so between Christmas and New year I'll be doing a deep clean, service, and winterise as Jan/Feb are likely to be propper snotters like normal!

My H2 has 9k on it after 5 years. Looking at getting a second touring bike to add more miles on than the H2

A little over 25,000 miles (40,000km) this year for me.

12,000 on a new GS 1250 that I got in June, 9,000 on my K1300R, 3,000 on a MV Augusta Turismo Veloce and then the rest on borrowed bikes.

Only about 2,000 miles on 4 wheels this year, most of them would've been in the van with a bike and/or the dog in the back.

Managed to fit both Wales and Scotland in this year as well, just.

This year around 12,000 km. That is all fun miles as I don’t use it for commuting not touring really (did a couple of slightly longer rides where I stopped overnight).

Pleasure only these days, usually about 6k miles across 2 bikes. When I used to commute by bike double that.
