I bought my V12 just over a year ago. She was in pretty good nick when I got her. There are a few things that from the offset I have had in mind to sort.

A few surface scratches on the car and some damage to the front splitter PPF where on the list as was removing horrible quarter front bonnet ppf. The number of people who thought there was a big scratch on the car. It really ruined the whole look.

The car went in for some warrantied paint work due to some bubbling under the wing mirrors. Interesting to note that this was a complete chore to get authorized. The pandemic has not helped. Apparently it turns out AM made the person who authorized this work redundant but didn't tell anyone or pass on his or her duties. On top of that, bubbling is no longer considered a defect apparently. I have to say the main dealer in my neck of the woods were brilliant. They did all the complaining and talking and sorted this mess out. Anyway some time later it was approved and the work was done.

As part of this they had to remove some of the PPF on the sills. I decided now was the time to sort the PPF all round. Got some quotes from local companies. Was not sounding cheap. I popped into PH to get some opinions on the quotes. Our friend Paddy pops up to help and a few private messages later I had a fair price for the work including transport that was significantly less then the quotes I had sourced. On top of that he was very helpful on the phone and answered all of my stupid questions. I'm not am expert on this sort of stuff. It was amazing how some other companies made it sound like I was inconveniencing them by trying to get a quote and some information.

The trailer arrived. The car went. The photos started to arrive. I know some people are unsure of the value of a detailer going to town on your car but the transformation is just staggering.

After making my car bleed.

And some serious polishing

The results were amazing

The steering wheel, that I was looking at replacing as it looked tired and worn came out like new! Sadly don't have any before pics.

Paddy, you've done some amazing work here. The car in person looks a different colour from the car I sent away.

Next up, full PPF.

This was performed by Jack at Lionshields. A recommendation from Paddy. I have small children so keeping the car scratch free is a challenge. Having a protective layer is very appealing to me in light of this.

I didn't know a huge amount about this process but again, Jack was happy to talk me through what went on and what could and could not be done.

As you can see from the pictures below on 90% of the car you can't tell it's there as it wraps around the panels.

The carbon fibre vents can't be wrapped around as the heat generated from the engine will damage the PPF if put on the underside

Here's the finished article

Finally delivery day arrived.

Aaand that's as far as she got. Due to a faulty fan pack the battery had drained. Kindly the driver offered to deliver the car to the dealer where a new module is being fitted under warranty.

Just waiting on the parts arriving before I get her back.

Good stuff! I am really thinking about treating Paddy to a restaurant in Milan and having him coming over! biggrin

As for the paint bubble, I had no problem in September, it got approved by AM Milano quickly. Annoying to hear that it is way more complicated now.

Car and PPF look great. Having mine fully wrapped next month so helps to see yours.
