Any Sonos users here?

Always best on sonos net , as you say just plug any speaker in via Ethernet and it will set itself. Best to switch all the speakers off and on , and you can check in the sonos app they are all on Sonos net , look for WM0 next to each speaker under “About my system”
I use a boost as my router is in a cupboard

I hate my Sonos system as it always says it cant find Sonos on my wifi, are you telling me if I just plug one of the speakers into the router it will all speak together without needing the wifi?
In theory you don't need to but in my experience it's definitely better if you plug one in via ethernet.I hate my Sonos system as it always says it cant find Sonos on my wifi, are you telling me if I just plug one of the speakers into the router it will all speak together without needing the wifi?

Has it ever been working on your wifi? I hate my Sonos system as it always says it cant find Sonos on my wifi, are you telling me if I just plug one of the speakers into the router it will all speak together without needing the wifi?
I had a bit of a 'mare when I moved house getting my setup to recognise my new wifi etc, but after a bit of faffing around plugging in a couple of speakers to the router, I've got it all set up with nothing needing an ethernet cable anymore.
I hate our sonos. I'm not sure if it's android but if I don't use it for a few weeks it takes me an hour to troubleshoot it and get it working again.
A big gotcha that took tech support 5 mins to fix is using with a mesh system, ans if a pair don't connect to the same ap then thry won't work as a stereo pair. As we have a mesh system and they get rebooted occasionally this happens quite often and is really annoying

You're right, there were times I could have ripped all mine out and burned the bloody lot of them.A big gotcha that took tech support 5 mins to fix is using with a mesh system, ans if a pair don't connect to the same ap then thry won't work as a stereo pair. Then I wired in an old bridge and it's been perfect ever since.
Still a slow and s

It used to work fine. They funked it up a while back and hasn't worked properly since. I just don't use them anymore as when j want them to work, I have to piss about to get them to work. I use a modern up to date phone and a wireless mesh system which sonos doesn't seem to play well with.
An expensive load of paperweights. I wouldn't buy again.

I have 2 Sonos connect Amps and a connect. The Amps are both S2 compatible but the connect is S1.
Sonos started out telling me I had to split my system. They told me the upgrade to S2 on the amps couldn’t be rolled back. With hours of messing around I got my system all running on S1.
I used to recommend Sonos to friends until the farce of them obsoleting half a system that worked perfectly the day before and then telling us we are f
ked. I will never buy another Sonos product again. I would be a fool if I did because they have made it impossible to grow my system.
Their BS of saying to split doesn’t really sit well with home integration!
I’m watching the Amazon amp products as they will accomplish the same outcome and will not purposely break my install.

Mine does now work with the bridge installed. The missing speakers problem, which could plague the system even when deciding to skip a song is completely gone.
I get this. I used to just use Spotify and it worked just fine. Then all of a sudden Spotify stopped working properly, you would get a terrible lag going forward and back tracks, if indeed it worked at all. So I went back to thr sonos app direct and then it all went tits up and half the time it wouldnt connect to the devices. Google suggests I'm not alone. What pisses me off is that to solve my problem it might help if I spend more money to fix a problem that they caused.f

I’ve got a Playbar, Sub and 2x Sonos 1 all used as my TV surround sound. Got given them for my 30th, so they are now at least 6 years old.
It all works off the new app, so far no problems (after the pain in the arse getting it all connected to my new wifi)
Am I just lucky, as it sounds like some/all of my kit is quite old now and should be having issues?
