Anyone else had it admitted you turn it on for the first time and it asks you to connect controller to console, mine is connected but just flashing blue 7 times and not connecting

Yeah done that but it’s not seeing it

The controller gets the orange glow then I press the ps button and it flashes blue 7 times but nothing happens

I’m wondering if it’s the cable or controller,

I’ve pressed the reset button but no luck, I’ve tried all 3 USB ports, and no difference,

When I first plug the controller in it gets the amber glow which would tell me it’s receiving data to charge but not transmitting,
You press the ps button and the blue light flashes 7 times

So need to find someone close with a cable to try,

I’ve tweeted Sony and PlayStation on Twitter so will see what they say failing that I’ll take it to game and make it their problem

Have it all cabled up and then hold the power button for however long it takes to force a restart?

So I think either the cable is faulty or the controller

I’ve plugged my PS4 controller in and pressed the PS4 button and it’s accepted that! But that was also using my PS4 cable

Update on this:

It appears to be the usb to usb c cable

So I connected my PS4 controller to the ps5 and have set it up,

Then gone into accessories pressed the create and ps button to add additional controller to which it’s found it paired it but it keeps asking me to plug in via the cable to update which it won’t!

So asked it not to update the controller, that’s now working deleted the PS4 controller and good to go

Now other teething issues but I’m sure it will be fine

Honestly I don’t see why it’s so difficult!

Like I’ve transferred my PS4 data to ps5 overnight, I’ve loaded black ops Cold War but warzone will only work with the modern warfare disc in not black ops???

Just to follow up on this

I bought a new cable from cex for £6 it seemed to be the cheapest I could find in a shop

That has now solved the issue

So

All good al working and just updated the controller so if anyone else has bother try that
