Knocking speed six engine !!

I was out in my car yesterday and after about 50 miles my engine has developed a knocking noise from cylinder head, doesnt seem to affect performance but def cause for alarm by sounds of it

any one any ideas? def from the head at tickover and upon revving..could this be fuel injector does anyone know?

Best get it checked out. If it's a harsh metallic tapping noise then could be valve train related.

Sudden knocking noise doesn't sound at all good, could be something drastic like a pad detached from a rocker arm. I would be inclined to have a specialist listen to it before driving it any further. Hopefully not serious, but if it is then the damage (and cost to repair) could rise sharply if you drive it any further.

'd advise not to drive it. Call the AA. Happened with mine. I got the AA to take it round the dealers on a low loader.

turned out to need a top end rebuild.

sorry to be bearer of bad news, but sounds like it's the same.
