My 2006 Cayman is losing charge, going from fully charged to dead in about a week. This is a new battery and I can't see an obvious drain, e.g. interior, boot lights, ext.
I had a tracker installed at my local Audi garage when I bought it in 2006, and from a browse around the web, it seems like could be the problem.

Does anyone have any experience of this? For example, can I easily disconnect it to test if that is the problem? Is it possible to buy/change the internal battery (It says 'ASK' on it - made in Italy). Note that I CAN get to the tracker.

Thanks in advance.

There is a possibility that the tracker could be up the creak being that old. I'd have thought that to find the drain would be very simple for an auto electrician.

If you can get to the tracker, disconnect it for a week (if you can leave it disconnected that long?) and see if that cures your battery drain problem.

hopefully you don't have to have the tracker for insurance purposes

I'm sure it would, but I'm trying to avoid the cost of an auto-electrician at this stage, or a new tracker if possible.

Hi Andy, I'd figured that, but there's no obvious way to disconnect the wiring at the tracker end. Was hoping someone might be able to offer some guidance specifically on that.

Yes I do, but happy to disconnect it for a week if it can prove the fault. Doesn't look straightforward to disconnect.

Mine does this in cold weather, combination of that and the tracker I think. Fine in the summer.

I bought a CTEK MXS 5.0 to keep the battery tip-top when air temp goes below 5 degrees or so. Works a treat.

EDIT: Should also add that I use the 12V socket in the armrest, so don’t actually connect to battery terminals. Much more convenient to connect/disconnect.
