997.2 Replacing front sunroof rain drains
Discussion
I had a similar problem on my 997.1and the water was leaking into the passenger side footwell
9E tracked it down and explained that a full replacement would be a big job but they were prepared to fix it by installing a short length of pipe and sealing it in place. Had that come from a more generalist repairer I would have been sceptical but 9E seemed to think it would be OK so I went with it.

I'm not surprised they suggested fixing the existing pipe. I may well go down that route.
I had a crack at it today. Horrible, time-consuming job and didn't end up being successful. I took off the driver's side wheel (mine is LHD) and then dealt with the extremely annoying wheel well liner, rounding plastic nuts and generally struggling with the ungainly rear portion of the liner. I was then met with the headlight washer bottle and no sight of the drain tube. I tried to remove the bottle but could only find one bolt and the rest was secured by a multitude of pipes, clips etc, etc. I may have even caused some leaks in the process.
After several hours of desperation, I just gave up and put the whole thing back together again as no amount of searching the net seemed to help. There seems to be some kind of flap/cover at the front of the doors held on my plastic rivets that I may be able to remove and gain access through. If this doesn't work I'm just going to try and fix the existing pipe somehow.
One of those days!
If anyone has any tips on this, please do let me know.

Managed to access the end of the front sunroof drain after removing windscreen washer reservoir. I then removed the retaining clips for the drain hose on the A pillar and unplugged the connector from the sunroof before trying to pull the hose through the wheel well. Clearly there is still something holding it place as the hose broke (albeit a little too easily). Looks like I'm now resigned to replacing it
Tomorrow I'm going to remove the side vent on the dash to see if I can gain further access to the hose through there.
