Misinformation Naming and shaming

How does PH get away with allowing posters to publish so much misinformation about Covid-19 when so many other public media sites are being censored?
Also
Why are people allowed to accuse, without real proof, so many bodies and individuals of lying and deceiving the populace with impunity yet we cannot mention companies who have cheated us (even if we have proof) and allow them to carry on with their illegal activities without having threads deleted and individuals banned?

There have been hundreds of posts claiming the government/NHS are lying about Covid data in order to suit their own agendas which are allowed to carry on, yet any posts saying some garage (named) have acted illegally, or the local s have stolen/destroyed property (with proof) are Removed very quickly!

Not quite. People are (previously) using the NHS data to show its not as bad as its been made out

Its obviously pretty bad right now.

But the same people are now objecting to numbers given without context.

Ie 7987 London ambulance calls on boxing day, last year was apparently 5,500 so mass panic and "40% up". Yet apparently 3 years ago they were planning for 7,000+. If true, that puts it in context somewhat.

Ie How many civud admissions are for serious cases of covid, and how many are "tested positive whilst being admitted for something else.

Easy (easier) access to numbers. We should all be in favour of that?

And - if anything - bad scarey numbers prove that attempting general containment to keep a lid on it wasn't the way to go, and the great Barrington Declaration might perhaps have been better. Not cheap, not easy - but - whatever Matt Hancock tells you, certainly possible.

For (a lot less than £400b) this thing could have raged on for a month or 2 with the vunerable properly protected, and - even if not perfect - you would have a hell of a lot less deaths than 71k

How would you propose to separate the truth from the misinformation, and who would do the adjudication ?

Or are you just against the publishing of information which doesn't support a certain narrative ?

The difference is, Boris isn’t going to land PH with a lawsuit.... a one man band garage being accused off malpractice probably would.

Here's the answer on naming & shaming; it's had it's own sticky thread just above yours in the forum for many years.

If you see posts you believe are spreading potentially damaging misinformation (note: not just opinions you don't agree with), then please use the 'Report' link to alert the moderation team so they can check it out. The moderation team are not able to read every post, so PH relies on users reporting problems for investigation.
