Sorry if this is a regular Q but some of you may be gathering that I'm researching this model!

I hear that they use a Volvo unit which is a bit clunky. I can live with that, but of more concern is upgradability. Roads have changed a lot since 2005.

My XK is 2006 but can use a 2014 DVD which is OK for my needs. Can the same stunt be pulled with the DB9 or is it not that easy? I'm not a smartphone person so that option is out, but could invest in a TomTom etc if there was no other option.

Many thanks.

My 2011 V8Vhas the same dashboard/sat-nav as the DB9. Last year I upgraded the maps with two discs bought on line for about £20 - took several hours but works perfectly. Regards, Dave (p.s. the sat nav gets a lot of stick but I’ve used it quite happily right across Western Europe)

Hi John,

My 2005 DB9 was upgraded with some discs like the above poster in 2018. Works fine.
