So here is the scene -
Just come back into the country, gone to pick up some stuff I left at a friends house. They live on a road off a main road.
I parked on the kurb outside the house so I could load up. While I was loading my car with lots of heavy stuff (boot open, obviously carrying stuff and putting it in boot), a woman with a pram had to step off the kurb to walk round the car. Seeing me she storms over and says...
Her "Excuse me but what gives you the right to make me walk round your car"
Me (annoyed by the instant unreasonableness) "Well you would look pretty stupid trying to walk through the car wouldnt you...."
Her "I am getting sick and tired of having to walk round you car all the time and having to go onto the road"
Me "Highly unlikely it was me as I have been out the country for the last week or so and I dont park here....!!"
Her "Well you are very inconsiderate"
Me "Well no not really as all this has been part of an overall plan just to annoy you specifically so all in all its worked out very well - got to go now as you are boring me"
And got in the car and drove off
Now I understand I was parked on the kurb to load my car up, but the curb is low and its hardly any effort at all to push a buggy round. It was obvious that I was loading heavy stuff into my car and there was nowhere else to put it.
It just annoys me that people see a situation that is easily explained yet they launch into a tirade becuase they are bored or just feel like excerting some power over their menial little lives.

Anyway she was left looking stunned and annoyed on the pavement so I was happy :)

As I said, no problem with the wrongs of parking on the pavement, forgot to add there were lots of cars actually were parked on the pavement, what did annoy me is that she saw the situation, and had a go only because I was there!

Next time i see someone unloading or loading a car / van / whatever under difficult circumstances, I will demand that they pack everything up, move to let me past, then critisise them for daring to inconvenience me for a fraction of a second of my life
Depends who was pushing the pram.....but in all cases,
you'll end up in the wrong. If it was a post-natal,
new mum, everything is a struggle...so relax,
be a gentleman, be contrite and help with the pram,
or apologise profusely. One day, you'll understand.
If, on the other hand, you happened to obstruct a
Norland Nanny, then you're lucky to be alive, let alone
posting on PH. As soon as you opened your gob for
some backchat, that very last thing you would hear is
the muffled thud of a silenced automatic pistol.
For the money they get paid, I'd expect nothing less.
Nanny knows best.

This makes a difference.
She'd probably spent the last half hour trying to shove a heavy pushchair between tiny gaps and weaving up and down kerbs. Believe me, those little pushchair wheels are a right bugger to get up and down any sort of kerb, it really gets your blood pressure up. If she's local, she probably makes that journey fairly often too.
You were just in the wrong place at the wrong time mate, and a friendly word would have left both of you a little less wound up. Why did you feel the need to inflame things?

No but I would stop to let her cross the road if she was already halfway across had the roles been reversed ...
Yours is a very poor analogy for the situation! READ THE POST I was loading stuff into my car, an obviously temporary situation.

If she hadnt approached quite so aggresivly I would have. She stormed toward me and got right in my face. I dont bode well to anyone who acts agressive toward me, man woman or beast.

Exactly! Thankyou! I dont know how I come across in the posts but in life I am a nice guy that will go out of my way to help people wherever I can - but I WILL NOT tolorate it when people are agressive toward me for no reason. Its a form of bullying and I dont like that.
