My go to choice for cars is usually PFC pads and Motul RFB600 fluid, is this a suitable setup for a 987.2 S for occasional only (but heavy when there) track use?

I'll be using PS4 tyres and rest of the car std.

If so what material for the PFC pads are commonly used with Caymans?

TIA,

Dunc.

Unless you've already done it then fitting 997 GT3 brake cooling ducts are probably the cheapest mod you can do. I paid £2.99 for mine (genuine parts). Simple to do and improve brake cooling significantly.

I assume you mean PS4S tyres? the PS4 is even less suited to track use than the PS4S.

The PS4S, whilst being a brilliant (summer) road tyre in all conditions is not great on track, it heats up and goes off pretty quickly so you will need to keep sessions short and don't do one hot lap after another.

Unfortunately I mean PS4, car arrived today and just double checked. It's the PS4 N2's all round, guess I'll have to bin those. Saying that if the PS4S is only good for a single hot lap that's no good to me either frown My usual is 20 to 30 laps flat biggrin

I've got the brakes here ready to get fitted now and I'll be ordering the 997 GT3 air scoops to add to that.

RS29's, GT3 brake ducts, GT3 MC, Girodiscs and RBF600 here. On Cup2's and the brakes were fantastic at a very hot Anglesey a few times the past year.

Cheers, think I'll need Cup 2's by the sound of it.
