GT4 Allocations - build dates
Discussion
It sounds like you didn't have an order in August, you had a promise of a slot. The latest round of allocations were done in late Nov/early Dec I think so you should have had a definite build date by now if your OPC were going to allocate one to you.
I'd be chasing up your Sales Associate for a definitive answer on what your build date is, and if you actually have one in the system right now.

In Aug, got offered an October build slot but refused it as wanted to wait for PDK so build slot now confirmed as Feb for Mar delivery. All paperwork completed and signed off.
I have just locked-in my spec with the hope of an earlier build slot as would like the car in Feb. But delighted to have the car confirmed so doesn't really matter when it arrives.

thanks, have just messaged them asking exactly that, i had the same hassle with the 991RS couple of years back, promised for ages but eventually got to spec it and got the formal signed order. I have a signed formal order and have paid my £5k deposit and was told it would be march, but they couldnt confirm exact date until December. Will see what they say tomorrow, I'd be chasing up your Sales Associate for a definitive answer on what your build date is, and if you actually have one in the system right now.
I was chasing them up as wanted to add PDK to the spec and also to get confirmation of when it was coming,

My OPC was getting twice as many cars as normal Nov and Dec in case of hard Brexit...and virtually none in January. So would make sense your mate’s car has come through early.
They have set build times , in fact around half amount being built due to the factory being rejigged for safe distances due to covid.Must have robbed Peter to pay for Paul?
Reading dont have their demo until end of Jan

Well done on getting a confirmed order for the GT4 after flipping you're RS to JZM with 124 miles. Good to see OPC's getting more forgiving.
My deposit was £10k as i'm told that's what OPC takes for a GT car and they shouldn't be taking a deposit till build slot confirmed. But we all know how some centres work!
Good luck.

£10k is the on paper deposit for GT Cars, 911 Turbo. £5k for everything else, though my OPC took £5k for my GT4, historically they've always taken half whatever the paper says to place an order.
