I know... blasphemy to even have a rear wiper on the 911... BUT it came with the used car I bought...

Does anyone know the size/adapter of this wiper and also does the rear windscreen fluid come from the tank in the luggage compartment or does it have its own?

Thanks!

I may not be much help as I have a 996 rather than a 997, but as far as I know Porsche never offered a rear wash - only a wiper. That was certainly true on the 996 and is also true on the 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 I have just picked up.

I confirm the above, there is no wash on the rear wiper.

Btw, personally its one of my favourite 911 "traditions".

Thanks for that, my wiper makes a sound like it wants to squirt out washer fluid but nothing comes out. That baffled me a little bit, but I guess that sound is just something else...

Yeah there is no wash which is why it’s only function is to spread dirt around

I removed my rear wiper as once cleared first thing in the morning I found the rear screen doesn't need a wiper. Also before removal, rear screen got scraped when the blade became dislodged.
Saves weight too!
Line of car looks better in my opinion without wiper.
Enough said.

Laughable that you say it is blasphemy. It is a vital strand of the Porsche DNA. Quite the opposite of what you say. Do your research before castings aspersions.

My recently-ish acquired 997.2 has a rear wiper and I’m very glad it does! For a regularly used car which lives outside it is one of the numerous little things which makes a 911 so useable while still feeling special. Celebrate your rear wiper! smile

Wasn't my own aspersions that I was casting, seems to be the mood around here from most. Wasn't something that put me off as I obviously bought the car, neither here nor there for me!

My 997.2 has a rear wiper and I use it all the time. Keep an eye of the external rubber gasket though as it seems to undo with use. There is no washer on the rear at least on the 997.2.
