How tall child in rear of 992
Discussion
Hi all,
Been looking at M5 comps but now starting to wonder if I can get away with a 992s. Basically, I drop my daughter off at school every morning and she is 4 years old and tall at 118cm. I’ve looked at the Porsche seats (the one that takes up to 36kg). Will she fit in the back? Anyone else use their 911 for school run? It won’t be my only car as I have a pickup truck but I would use the Porsche whenever the weather allowed.
Thanks

This is the seat
I use it for more than just school runs, he loves climbing in and out of it himself vs. our SUV which he struggles a bit to get up

My first 911 (992) was delivered in June this year. I use it for school runs two children 11 and 13, school bags, hockey sticks bags, gym kit and my laptop bag until we got locked down again. You can make it work. ;-)Been looking at M5 comps but now starting to wonder if I can get away with a 992s. This but 13 and 16. They love it and often end up bringing home a plus one because they want a ride in the ‘sports car’ I reckon all good for this type of thing until about 5,4. Sorry, 991.2.Edited by 2010spy on Thursday 31st December 17:08
Thanks for the replies. Think I’m going to hold out until lockdown over and book a test drive of 992CS. I’ve previously had 997.1 GT3 and 997.2 turbo and I am missing porches badly. At the end of the day it’s only a case of getting my daughter in and out of the car once a day so no big deal. I love the 4 door super saloons but they don’t have that special Porsche feeling.
Is it just me, or does it seem like the 991 has a bit more rear headroom?
Been a while, but I recall being taken to the pub in the back of one (wasn’t an awesome experience for me, but didn’t seem to mind at the time) and the 992 seemed to have a lower roof back there than his previous 991. Circumstances were similar so it could be that I was just more slouched in the 991.

I posted something on another 911 thread but I'd recommend front ISOFIX for max versatility (can be retrofitted too).
I also use 2 x Maxi-Cosi Rodi Air Protect. Works great, especially once the children can put the seatbelt on for themselves (so from age 3-4).
Taking the rear seat out helps a little with headroom. The base just attaches with velcro (assume the same on the 992). You obviously need to retain the seat back.
