What are your bike Plans for 2021?
Discussion
What's the plans for your biking this coming year, all being well?
New bike(s), tours, off road track, getting your licence, training etc etc?
For me in order ish;
Repair tele lever suspension on my K1300R and service it
Buy a GSXR1000 (K5/6)
Give back the GS1250 I have on loan (will stretch this out longer if possible)
Buy a Super naked - Super Duke R is what I want, but will likely be an S1000R as I can run it cheaper
On top of the admin I want to Ride the Wild Atlantic Way, get a long weekend away with my mates on the bikes - its like herding cats, track days a plenty - 7 booked already, get over to to continent and learn to off road
The aim will be a good 30,000 - 35,000 miles next year

Register ZX9R for road use
Give Dragster 180 a going over to get that working and on the road
Finish cleaning up an old Zard exhaust system I got for the 999R, get it on the bike along with the black box-section swingarm I got for it some years ago. Then ride it more than the roughly 100km I seem to have done on it for the whole of this year.....

My Speed Triple is being delivered on Monday and my plans for the year are to get as many miles on it as possible! Lots of places I would like to go round the country, and have an Aunt in southern Spain who may well get a visit
Have you ridden on Majorca yet? Might as well if you get to Spain! Stunning roads.

I haven't, I've never ridden abroad due to having uncomfortable bikes in the past. Will definitely look into it, thanks! Cap Formentor also, and west-East across the very top of the island , the roads are just fantastic as are the views.
Assuming it goes ahead, I'm off to Le Mans 24 hour race. The plan was to drive down with a couple of mates; however, 2020 has reinforced that life is just too short, so I may trade in my trusty CB650 for something a little more lively & ride it down to the races.
To those heading to Spain:
I know a little of this region, & one day would like to do a bike trip https://destination-yamaha-motor.com/partner/bikin...

Finish the service that I’m halfway through -Lapland Financial services plc has put a stop to it until next month.
Doing everything except the valves as I’ve got another 10k before it needs doing. But all fluids have been changed, just pads and tyres to do. It’s the first time I’ve serviced a vehicle myself - would not have done it if it hadn’t been for YouTube walkthroughs.
Then hoping to do a weekend in Wales again or perhaps Scotland.
I also have a training course coming up in Castellon so I’m hoping to book a week off before and ride down ( maybe the Santander/Bilbao ferry and the Picos rather than the schlep through France.
Other than that lots of days out in Derbyshire and of course out to the coast for fish and chips!
If the house sells and we downsize as planned, then I might start looking at another bike but I’m quite loyal to my own vehicles and tend to keep them a while so probably not.
I’ll try to get the reluctant other half on the back, but I won’t try too hard.

Get the Speed Four back together (thanks, Dibblecorse) and roadworthy - then probably sold... Lots of miles on the Guzzi, hopefully including the big road trip to Mandello for the centenary celebrations at the end of September. Bike nights, bike meets, events, rallies, stuff...
ETA: first job is to fit the fender extender to the Guzzi, so my legs are less brown after every ride and my garage doesn't smell like a kiln from all the baked mud on my pots!

Put some miles on the newly re-commissioned TL1000R
Find a well looked after 954 Fireblade or GSXR 1000 K1/2 to sit alongside it
Get back to the desert, hopefully on the Morocco Desert Challenge in April
Get some long day / weekend rides in the UK as things open up
Put into practice everything that I learned on a recent Rapid Training refresher ride

Pass the A licence, first mod1 in November cancelled, January 6th rebooked date also cancelled. If I can get them done by spring I'll be ok with that, just a bit frustrating.
Sell the MT125 and get a bigger bike post test, the length of delay may be proportionate to what I end up buying as I can see an impulse purchase the longer the tests get pushed out. Sense says an er6f/sv650/cbr600 for £2.5k ish but I could also go for a cbr650/Street triple if allowed to man maths my way to a pop.
More training, bikesafe, survival skills etc. I think I am doing well from where I started but very aware that I can't just wing it when I've got my license, I want to be safe and smooth and the rest will follow.
It may be aspirational for this year but I would love some track time, even if it's an instructed session or something similar to the Ron Haslam days. Having been on a fair few car track days, 'ring trips in the past I do miss it.
See a bit more of the UK. It's going to be a tricky one to balance with a young family but if given the opportunity to have a good few hours on the bike I would like to plan some routes and enjoy the bike and the ride. With a 6am start I can cover a lot of ground and still be back for lunch so hopefully I'll getvthe chance for these in the warmer months. Although my wife doesn't share my enthusiasm for bikes she has actually been pretty good about me taking up a relatively high risk hobby.
I would like to get to 5k miles at least this year, hopefully some summer commuting will be an option to boost the numbers. More importantly I find being on a bike does wonders for my own headspace, I have a busy and pressured job with a young family and even an hour on the bike in the evening puts me in a good place.
None of my friends ride or have any interest in doing so, it would be good to meet a few that ride locally.
On a more personal level, I miss my family (even the in-laws), I haven't had a beer with my friends since mid-February, I miss how easy life was before. 2021 is going to be a tough work year (covid+brexit) and anything that resembles normality will be a real plus. I think we're all a bit tired and worn down.
