Hi all,

I after some ideas for simple options of what to do with a large number of part-boiled potatoes that were going to be roasted had my oven not just given up the ghost?

I still have a working top-grill in the oven, hob or microwave available to me.

Chips are a no, and while I could do mash I am wondering if I have any other more inspiring, simple options there may be?

Thanks in advance

If you have a gas BBQ you could roast them in there. Nice layer of fat in the bottom of the tin and gas on low and lid down.

Slice or dice and pan fry with garlic and rosemary/thyme in butter and oil until golden. Stir frequently to stop if sticking. Drain and serve

That’d be my choice.

Whole sprigs of fresh rosemary straight in the pan?

Ideally but a heavy sprinkle of dried herb will work too.

Dinner delayed until this evening but we will be trying this as a solution.

Thanks all for the replies

At least it didn't happen on Xmas day...

ps No BBQ unfortunately otherwise would have gone for that

You could use a charcoal BBQ and indirect heat but you'd need to pay attention.

Have a bonfire and put the potatoes wrapped in aluminium foil in the embers.
