Hi folks, I'm borderline on ordering an LG CX. I've done quite a lot of reading and am aware of the potential glare given my room is south facing and the TV would be opposite windows and patio doors.

I'd really like to go down the oled route if I can so I'm interested if I can find out the brightness (nits) of my existing Samsung ue40b7020.

Failing that can anyone give me a sense of how it would compare to an oled?

Can anyone help me find that out so I have a comparison please, can't find it on Google. Thanks

Just as a bit of anecdotal evidence...

I recently bought a 48" CX and I am absolutely besotted. I could wax lyrical for hours about how mind-bendingly good the image quality is, but that's not what you want to know hehe

I am running the panel brightness at about 60%. At 100% it is absolutely eye-wateringly bright. When HDR kicks in, it is seriously impressive. My old Panasonic LED-backlight LCD is just nothing in comparison.

I am aware of the widely-publicised "brightness issue" and for me it is absolutely not an issue.

Reflections are an issue with any TV.

Well I ordered the cx 55 anyway which is arriving tomorrow beer so wax away haha

Its a bright room but for the window opposite it i will add a blackout lining to the curtain so it shouldn't be a problem

I think it depends on your room and distance. Oled looks incredible but I went with one of the 4000nit Samsungs QLEDs and it at times is too bright. The sun is like looking at the sun.

Feedback please once you're all set up. I'm aiming to get a 65 GX in February when I move back into my house after it's refurb and that will be a fairly bright room. After saying that it will only be for films etc in the evening probably as I'll have a 55inch LED in the kitchen /diner for daytime use. Still, keen to know how you get on!

Well its an incredible TV. Looks great, sounds great, very pleased with it.

The reflection is a problem. But it is directly opposite a window which the main sofa is under. Its worse than my last TV. This was expected so the curtains need a lining, I've borrowed my black outs from the spare room and it is fine. The patio doors I have the curtains drawn, they are out of sight of the reflection and its fine with direct sun coming into the other half of the room.

The TV isn't as bright as folks make out, it's bright enough but i would not consider it outstandingly bright by any means.

Nonetheless I would have this problem with any tv in this room so I am happy to deal with the curtains on bright days and have an awesome tv!!

The sound is nice and balanced, its exceeded by expectations. Its a lot bassier than I expected.

I'm generally pretty fussy so if I'm happy most will be
