Slow Drip...No,not just me

Found I have a slow drip from the bottom of the radiator somewhere but can't find exactly where from.
Only when engine hot and water pressurised.:scratchchin:
Anyone help me with a good product they would recommend please? Radweld any good or something better?(Not an egg)

First check the bottom hose to see if it's leaking from there. If you can't find where it is coming from then it is probably the rad itself.

If it's the rad I wouldn't recommend Radweld (unless in emergency) then it's time for a re-core. Your local Serck depot can usually turn it around in 24hrs. I paid c.£80 + vat recently.

Mine was weeping for a while..... got new rad...

normally bottom corner of rad rust near core ,seems to be common as it is open to elements and muck

Oh nuts! Think the rad is quite new,praps 5 years,and no sign of any rust or damage anywhere,but leak is from bottom corner somewhere very close to inlet pipe joint and you all say thats the problem area.
Not even dirty on mine,looks as good as new but can't see what else it can be.
Cannot see where its dripping from but hose is silicone and it aint that.Will check the joint is good as the silicone hoses are not as flexible as ordinary rubber but the clip is tight and I dont think its leaking from there.
Sounds like I need to get it out and under a good light! Grrrr!
Advice for sourcing a new one?

I had same symptoms / same place before deciding it was the rad leaking I had mine re-cored by Serck www.serckintertruck.co.uk they have a branch locator on the website. Alternatively, try a local radiator company.

Good service from Serck <24 hrs.

Rad is easy to remove - remove hoses, undo 2 bolts on top and lift off the locating pegs.

Yup - what they all said.
Any good radiator workshop should be able to re-core yours for around £130-140 inc VAT.
Tell them it's basically a Sherpa van rad with the nozzles in and out altered to suit the S.

Got mine done last year and they turned it around in about 36 hours!

hoses might be a problem or where it joins the rad ,make sure you have a good jubiliee clip on it ,may be worth draining the system wire wooling the outlet pipe so it is smooth and reattching hose and see if it helps ,most rad places will also test before repairing/recoring

Ah Ha...Paul to the rescue.Thats my sort of budget at the moment!(Fraud on my credit card is playing havoc with my finances at the moment...if I could get my hands on..etc.etc.)
Slapped some Radweld in last night temporarily so it gets no worse and presently seems to have stopped dripping.
Any idea who that might be Paul???
I will look out a YP for Tonbridge and see if I can find them.

I can't remember the name of the company, but they are at the High Brooms end of Camden Road in TW, up a little alleyway between two shops. A scabby looking place, but the guy was working on some really ornate looking radiators from old rollers and stuff, you know the sort of radiator that is on show, not hidden behind a grill. He really seemed to know his stuff. If you are walking down Camden Road towards High Brooms they are on the left. There is a small sign on the pavement.

Check the silicone hoses first.... they are renound for leaking if not fitted properly, and they do come loose as well.

If you don't think its the rad, or the pipe you can a "thingy" to pressurise the sytem whilst it is cold so that you can have a good nose around whilst not burning yourself....
