Any owners have any signs of rubbing or wear to their soft top? Is this normal for eg a 2012 to have a few wear related marks?

Guess it depends how many times it has been up and down.
Most convertibles I've had shows signs of wear but then I always use them with the hood down unless it is raining.

I have a 2012 Roadster with 66k miles on it now. Don't think there is any real noticeable wear on inside or outside of the roof. It lives outside and gets a good clean & re-proof every April.

The main dealer that services my DB9 Volante recommended that I leave the hood raised when I am not using it so I lower the hood before a drive and then raise it when I return home.

Is this the best way to keep a hood in good condition?

Yes. The space available to stow the hood is quite small in order to keep the rear deck low and preserve the visual lines of the car, so the fabric and interlayers are packed in tightly. It’s a bit like looking after a nice suit; you can put it in a suitcase to go on a trip but you don’t store it in there - you unpack it and put it on a hanger as soon as you can.
