2002 Porsche Boxster S 986
Discussion
Well, first day back at work and I immediately fell victim to the pleasure of browsing the pistonheads classifieds.
Having sold my Clio V6 a couple of months ago, I guess I did have the green light to buy another car, but even so, there were only three hours between me thinking ‘ooh, I always fancied a go at a cheap Boxster’ to ‘wow, that looks like a good one’ and finally ‘I BOUGHT IT LOVE!'
It's a 2002 pre-facelift Boxster S with 104K miles on the clock. It also came with the optional hard top.
Apart from the genuine seller, what really swung it for me was the comprehensive service history (big folder of paperwork and all the stamps) and in particular, evidence of recent care and attention - resolving all of the MOT advisories, new Pirelli tyres, discs, pads, fluids etc.
I haven't found any jobs that need doing just yet, but I took the car out for a spirited drive after the rain stopped this evening and really enjoyed it.
Let's see how this goes!

enjoy, - i picked up a 2000 S in september it was in ok condition but has needed a few bits to get it to where i am happy. new sprak plugs, coil packs and tubes. im just about to give it a suspension refresh as i now have all the parts for it - should make it drive like a new car again.
enjoy the car. the flat 6 induction noise is something else.

I love the boxster. Never owned one, but I have a hankering to own one some day. I have a 996 but I think the boxster is different enough so that I wouldn't directly compare the two.
Do you have any plans for it?
Also, Clio V6 pics please!
I can't really improve on the picture of the Clio from the original advert, but I do have a few pictures on my phone somewhere:Do you have any plans for it?

I don't have any real plans for the Boxster- I would like to restore the headlights and give it a bit of a detail before the Spring, but otherwise just looking forward to some high value motoring.

Good luck! I bought one last year in a similar kind of way and still feel mostly positive about it!
Being fair, it's a great car and I haven't had anything too wrong with it yet. I can imagine myself keeping it a good while yet
Thanks, that's reassuring.

Feels like a solid chunk of car for the money.
