I have a number of nuts, bolts, washers, fuel rail, throttle mechanism, bonnet and boot catches etc that I'd like to chuck in a bucket and get them professionally Zinc Passivate plated in the OEM gold finish.

Can anyone recommend somewhere they have had a good experience of within an hours drive of Woking, Surrey?

Thanks in advance!

You should try Mercury Electroplaters in Camberley, I kept on popping down there to get the parts for my V12 engine zinc plated, they did a great job and even chrome plated my rusty headlamp surrounds. They matched the Jag OEM zinc finish
Unit 7H, Bridge Trading Estate, GU15 2QR.

Thanks for the advice, they're only 25 mins from me which is convenient too.

That V12 looks great, did you get the aluminum castings soda blasted somewhere local too?

What's it out of, an XJS or XJ12? Any pics of the whole car?

Hi Mike,
No I stripped down the externals of the engine and sprayed it.. wanted to have some kind of protection so I can keep it clean, the bare aluminium needs a lot of elbow grease to keep clean.. Still haven't fitted it yet, waiting for a 5 speed..

That looks lovely!

I'm guessing all the Series 3 V12's were auto boxes so you sourcing a box from something else?

As a child my father bought a new XJ6 in 1971, still have very good memories of that car and often think about an XJ12C/Double Six or outside locking bonnet E-type (if I could afford one!)

Yes Mike, switching to a manual 5 speed, still waiting for the box, have everything else... Get your self an XJ before they all disappear or become too expensive... to buy and then restore..
